I got to hold Mav today - sitting in a real chair - not just on top of his bed! He's doing well. His vent rate is down to 18. I think they're just going to have to wean him very slowly. He has been putting a lot out of his dialysis catheter and the docs seem to think maybe he's beginning to mobilize some fluid that is trapped in his arms and legs. I really hope so. I can't wait to see him start moving around more. No other changes today. They're going to start feedings tomorrow and give his bottom one more day to heal. It looks much better. Love you all - jc

hi juli,
it's so sweet to see you holding maverick. i am praying for him to continue his progress. i'm glad he'll at least be a lot closer to home in okc. hang in there all of you and take comfort that with each passing day you're getting closer to coming home. sending good thoughts and blessings your way, karlin
Mav looks so cute and precious in his santa hat but he looks even better in his Mama's arms. So glad to hear Mav's improving.

Great to see the pictures. I hope talking to Dr. Pickens helped a little the other day. When you decide to move him, check into Angel Flight. They can do fixed wing and are a non-profit organization. If they need a volunteer let me know. Hope your week is a good one. Love, Cindy
What a wonderful moment for you and Mav!!! I am so happy for you to have this time with him. We continue to pray for you all. Allison
What a wonderful site. Cherish all the moments, big and small. Keep the faith and you and your family continue to be in my prayers. I appreciate the effort that you have put into the blog to keep us updated with pics, stories, and allowing us to be part of your extended family. He is a beautiful big boy. LV, Tara
What a wonderful picture...it makes my heart swell to see it.. I am praying that you get to hold him as much as you want...with all of us wanting that he might not get put down to walk on his own until he is around...23..lol. I can't wait to get him here! Praying always...
