They have turned off the paralyzing medicine today. He has his little eyes open and is making sucking movements with his tongue, but he's not moving anything else yet. They're trying him on a different setting on his ventilator to see if he'll tolerate breathing some on his own. He's still pretty edematous, so it's a little difficult for him to breathe. Say a prayer for him -hopefully he'll do ok. He's still on all the drips, they'll wean those if they can. Just very slow progress. Thanks for your comments - I enjoy hearing from you all - jc

Lord I pray for baby Maverick today. We know you are the great physician. Please heal maverick. Please let him be able to tolerate being off the meds and equipment so his family can be back together completely. Lord I ask you to be with Greg, Juli and the "big kids". Give them peace and strength as they are away from each other. Give them also the finances needed. Lord be with the doctors as they watch over Maverick. Give them knowledge, clarity and rest so they can fully care for this baby. Be with the nurses. Give them compassion Lord. We love you and trust you even when we can not see your will!
